Hi everyone! Meatballs are a favorite food for my husband, myself and even our toddler! I also really love chicken cordon bleu. So, I figured, why not combine two of my favorites? These meatballs are super flavorful, have all of the key components of both chicken cordon bleu and a traditional meatball, and are coated in a delicious dijon butter sauce. They pair so incredibly easy with so many things too, such as pasta, rice, salad, etc. So now that I’ve told you all about them, let’s get started!

Special Ingredients and Equipment Needed:

Special Kitchen Equipment:

For this recipe, most of the kitchen tools you’ll need are fairly standard and are things you’ll likely already have. Here’s what I recommend:

  • Sharp knife
  • Garlic press
  • Cheese grater or food processor
  • Nonstick cookie sheets
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk

Most of these items above are things you’ll likely already have, but if not, I HIGHLY recommend getting them!

Special Ingredients for Chicken Cordon Bleu Meatballs:

All of the ingredients for these meatballs should be able to be found in your regular grocery store! There isn’t anything that should be super hard to find. Worst case scenario, if you can’t find ground chicken, you *could* substitute ground turkey. But aside from that, the rest are all basic grocery items.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Meatballs

Prep Time10 mins
Cook Time40 mins
Servings: 30 meatballs

Ingredients

Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 5 slices deli ham, chopped finely
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup swiss cheese, finely shredded
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning

Dijon Butter Sauce

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp ranch dressing
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • pinch of pepper
  • pinch of Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a cookie sheet with nonstick spray.
  • Mix all meatball ingredients together in a large mixing bowl until well combined.
  • Divide meat and roll into 30-35 equal sized 1 inch balls
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the meatballs reach 160°F internally.
  • Toward the very end of the baking time, melt butter in a small microwavable bowl. Whisk all sauce ingredients into the melted butter until fully incorporated.
  • Dip the top of each cooked meatball in the sauce, shaking off any excess. There is only JUST enough sauce for each meatball.
  • Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!

These easy meatballs put a big spin on the classic recipe. And the dijon butter sauce is the perfect finishing touch. They were a huge hit for my family and I hope that yours will like them too.
