As a busy parent, I’m constantly looking for quick meal ideas. Wraps are always great for this purpose. That being said, these smoked salmon pinwheels are a super quick and easy lunch that my family really enjoyed. So, here we go!
Special Ingredients and Equipment Needed:
For these smoked salmon pinwheels, there aren’t any special kitchen utensils that you’ll need aside from a sharp knife to slice the pinwheels. I highly recommend a non-serrated knife so that the tortilla isn’t shredded. We really like our Emeril Lagasse Knife Block but a sharp regular, old chef’s knife should do the trick!
As far as ingredients go, I typically use these carb balance wraps for my pinwheels, but you’re free to use whatever kind you like. I used the tomato basil wrap for mine. Aside from the wraps, I use fresh chopped dill and whipped cream cheese. I love the whipped cream cheese because it spreads so much easier than the block of cream cheese!
Lastly, I use lox or cold smoked salmon. If you’ve never used it before, this isn’t the kind of salmon you get on the shelf as a gift for Christmas. This is the kind in the deli or butcher section of the grocery store. It’s cold smoked, so it doesn’t have as much of the flaky texture of grilled smoked salmon. It’s more like sushi salmon, except brined and cured, so it’s safe to eat even though it appears raw.

For this recipe, I use fairly loose measurements since it’s really based on personal preference how much of everything you’d like.
