Hiya, pal! While I was away, we were busy taking some time to be together as a family. During that time, we celebrated my kiddo’s second birthday! So, in this post, I wanted to share with you all of the fun things we did to make his second birthday special. This started by transforming our back deck into something that Mickey Mouse himself would be proud of. We took our house and turned it into Mickey’s Clubhouse. Let me show you how we did it!
A Mickey Mouse Birthday: Pictures

Our house was 100% decked out in Mickey Mouse everything. Our big boy was so excited to see all of the decorations when we took him outside. Now let’s talk about the different items we purchased and made to get our house rocking like the house of mouse.
Supplies Needed for Your Mickey Mouse Party:
So just to start out, I purchased most of the supplies we used on Amazon. There are tons of variety packs on Amazon that have Mickey Mouse birthday supplies. We did also do a lot of shopping on Etsy. Here are the items we purchased:
Dessert Table:

- Cupcake Toppers – I didn’t actually end up using these because I decided that cupcakes were too much work with everything else I was baking.
- Cupcake Stand – Again, I didn’t actually end up making cupcakes, but this is super cute for those who do!
- Mickey Mouse Ear Birthday Candle – This was a super cute addition for our kiddo’s birthday cupcake!
- 2 Candle – We just used a simple red 2 candle for the top of the main cake.
- Sprinkles – These sprinkles looked perfect on the top of the cake I made!
- Chocolate Drip – This bottle of chocolate drip heated up perfectly and was super easy to work with.
- Dessert Plates, Napkins, and Tablecloth – These are the dessert plates we used. They’re very small, so I don’t recommend trying to use them for the main meal. I used the tablecloth on the gift table, which is what we’ll talk about next!
- Centerpiece – The adorable standing Mickey Mouse on the cake table as well as a few other decorations came from the shop FeistyFarmersWife on Etsy.
- Oh Twodles Cake Topper – I got this super cute cake topper from ArtisticAnyaDesigns.
Gift Table:

- Mickey Mouse Airwalker Balloon – This balloon was a huge hit at the party! It was so fun for the kiddos.
- Happy Birthday Banners and Welcome Sign – These felt banners are super durable! I used the Come Inside sign on the outside of our front door.
- Streamers – This set comes with a ton of streamers. We had one roll of each color leftover after doing our streamer backdrop.
- Pom pom tissue balls – These pom pom tissue balls really add the finishing touches for the streamers. They were super easy to assemble too.
Food Tables:

- Standing balloon centerpieces – These were super cute, but I highly recommend getting a strong glue dot or adhesive to hold them to your table. The glue dots that come with them aren’t strong enough.
- Large 2 balloon – This was absolutely perfect for our party! The gold went surprisingly well with the rest of the decor.
- More balloons – We had a bunch of balloons, okay? Haha! But we had some of these balloons tacked above the food tables and then we filled a bunch with helium outside so people could find our house easily.
- Hot Diggity Dog Bar Sign – This was another purchase from FeistyFarmersWife on Etsy!
- Black Plastic Tablecloth – We used these as table runners for our Mickey Mouse pants table set up.
- Red Plastic Tablecloth – We used these as the main tablecloth to create the look of Mickey’s pants. For the buttons, we used glue dots with white paper plates!
- Food Tent Cards – These tent cards from DivinePartyDesign on etsy were so cute! I’ll go into all of the dishes we served at the party in a little bit!
- Mickey Mouse Head Plates – These plates from InspiredEventsStudio on etsy were a hit!
- Variety Pack of Decorations – This came with a tissue garland, the dots you see on the door, and more!
- For the cups and silverware, I just bought red solo cups and cutlery from Walmart.
- For the poster, we bought a poster board from Dollar Tree, printed out little blurbs and glued them on. I printed pictures at Shutterfly and used these craft scissors and construction paper to make borders for them.
Now, it’s my opinion that you can’t have a party without food. This brings me to my next point. Let’s talk about the fun dishes that we served at our son’s party.
Mickey Mouse Party Food
Unfortunately, I only snagged a couple closeups of the food that we made. But, the dishes we served are as follows:
Hot Diggity Dog Bar

- We served jumbo Costco all beef hot dogs on Sara Lee Artisan buns for our hot dog bar. These hot dogs are our absolute favorite. They actually taste like meat and don’t have any nasty byproducts, plus they’re also gluten free.
- Hot Dog Bar Toppings – We had just about every topping you could think of!
- Ketchup
- Yellow mustard
- Dijon mustard
- Mayo
- Sweet relish
- Dill pickle slices
- Green onions
- Red onions
- Shredded lettuce
- Sauerkraut
- Jalapeño slices
- Shredded cheese
- Queso sauce
- Chili
- And lastly, bacon bits
- Hot Dog Bar Toppings – We had just about every topping you could think of!
Sides and Treats

- Oh Toodles Noodles – My amazing recipe for crowd pleasing mac and cheese. Literally everyone raved about how good it was! I’ll be posting the recipe soon for everyone to see 🙂
- Minnie’s Mixed Fruit – We purchased a couple of fruit trays with blueberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew and grapes. The fresh fruit was great to have because it was really hot out for the party.
- Goofy’s Garden Grub – I made a delicious southwest corn and black bean salad. I’ll be posting the recipe soon!
- Daisy’s Dip – For this, I made homemade spinach dip. To be honest, I use the recipe on the Knorr’s Vegetable Mix and it turns out perfect every time!
- Donald’s Quackers – We purchased Ritz Chips in the flavor Sour Cream and Onion, which omg, they’re delicious! We also got original Wheat Thins.
- Meeska Mouska Munchies – We got one of the giant variety boxes of chips from Costco for this so that the chips were in individual bags instead of everyone reaching into one bag.
- Clarabelle’s Cookies – I made delicious decorated sugar cookies for Mister Man’s birthday!
- Pluto’s Punch – I used this recipe for cherry limeade from The Country Cook. It was so refreshing and everyone said how good it was.
- Pete’s Pop – We filled our cooler with ice cold pop and juice boxes in addition to the cherry limeade.
- Mouse-katools – We labeled the plates, cups, napkins and cutlery as the mouse-katools!
Lastly, for the cake, I made an absolutely delicious white cake with bavarian cream filling, chocolate drip, and vanilla buttercream frosting. It seriously was the best cake I’ve ever made. I was super proud of it!
Birthday Boy Poster

The last decoration that I’ve yet to talk about in detail is the poster that I made for the birthday boy! I did discuss which supplies you’ll need, but not what info to put on the poster. For the images, I simply cut out pictures of Mickey Mouse and glued them to the poster. For the font, I used Waltograph. Lastly, here are the different topics or favorites that I included:
- Foods
- Songs
- Activities
- Books
- Shows and movies
- New skills
For each of these topics, I listed a few of our kiddo’s favorites, but feel free to include other info that better suits your family, such as nicknames, favorite memories, etc.
A Surprise Guest:

One of the things I think that made our little guy’s birthday really special is that there was a surprise guest! His music teacher came out to celebrate with us! Our kiddo had so much fun with her there. We even got to pick the songs that she sang with us. I’ll be doing a post in the future about how I feel music classes have seriously been so beneficial for our family, but his teacher joining us for his birthday was so special!
Mickey Mouse Party: In Conclusion

It’s so fun to transform your home into something straight out of Mickey Mouse’s Toontown! You just have to have the right supplies and good food. Our two year old had an absolute blast at his party. I hope I was able to steer you in the right direction so that your littles enjoy their party too!

Thank you! We had so much fun and definitely wanted to make sure anyone that likes how we set up could find the tools to do so themselves!
Love your themed party. The food ideas are super cute. And who doesn’t love Mickey Mouse at some point in their life?
Aw thanks! And yep, my son loves him haha!
