No, this isn’t April Fools! I’m back, haha! Anyway, this A1 meatloaf is one of my family’s absolute favorite comfort food dishes. Meatloaf is a classic staple that anyone should know how to make. However, traditional style recipes usually contain ketchup. So, the A1 sauce I add to this recipe gives a smoky, elevated flavor that my family really enjoys. So now let’s dive into how to make this delicious classic.

Special Kitchen Equipment or Ingredients Needed:

For this recipe, there are a couple kitchen supplies I would definitely recommend having on hand. But, these are likely items you have in your kitchen in the first place:

  • Loaf pan
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Garlic press

As far as ingredients go, there shouldn’t be anything in this recipe that you can’t find at your local grocery store.

Now, I know it’s not shown above, but there’s also A1 sauce in the meatloaf itself as well as on top. Then, afterwards, I topped my sliced meatloaf with ketchup, but we’ve also used barbecue sauce too, which is delicious.

Total Time1 hr 12 mins
Servings: 6 servings

Equipment

  • Loaf pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Garlic press

Ingredients

  • 1 cup onion, finely diced
  • 2 stalks celery, minced
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup A1 steak sauce, plus more to top
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup Italian style panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F and spray a loaf pan with nonstick spray.
  • Combine all ingredients thoroughly with hands in a large mixing bowl. Once fully combined, press hamburger mixture into the loaf pan so that the meatloaf is flat and even throughout the loaf pan.
  • Bake uncovered for 45 minutes, then spread additional steak sauce over top and bake an additional 15 minutes.
  • Let rest 5 minutes before slicing, then serve and enjoy!

When I told my husband I was making this A1 meatloaf a couple weeks ago, he was seriously so excited for dinner. This recipe is sure to become a family favorite and makes the BEST meatloaf sandwiches too. We hope your family gets as excited to have it as we do.
