Hey everyone! As we head into summer, I find that at least in my family, we look for recipes to help cool off and feel refreshed. This garlic dill coleslaw does exactly that. It’s crunchy, it’s tangy and it’s the perfect side dish for your cookouts and family barbecues. So, here we go!
Specialty Kitchen Equipment and Ingredients:
For this recipe, you’ll likely want a good set of mixing bowls, a sharp knife, and a whisk for the creamy coleslaw sauce. Aside from those items, there isn’t much needed in terms of kitchen equipment.
In terms of special ingredients to make this coleslaw, there isn’t anything in this recipe that you shouldn’t be able to find at your local grocery store. But, the only thing that you may not have on hand are celery seeds.

There’s not much to this recipe, but the results are delicious! You can see just how creamy this dressing is and the pickles add a lot of zing!
Recipe:
Garlic Dill Coleslaw
Ingredients
- 1 bag coleslaw mix
- 1 bunch green onions, sliced thinly
- 1 dill pickle, minced finely
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp dill pickle juice
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp sugar (omit if using sweet or bread and butter pickles instead of dill)
- 1/2 tsp celery seeds
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine coleslaw mix, green onion, and pickle. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix all remaining ingredients until smooth and creamy.
- Pour dressing over the coleslaw mixture and stir well to fully coat everything with the dressing.
- Chill until ready to serve.
- Serve and enjoy!
This garlic dill coleslaw is so incredibly flavorful with minimal work. It seriously only takes about 10 minutes to whip up and is a favorite for our family. It’s the perfect cold side dish for the summer!
